In the world of business, it is almost always more advantageous to hire an attorney as early as possible in the process. A business attorney will be able to stop problems before they happen and advise you on future steps to protect your investments of time, effort, and energy into your business.
On the flip side, we often deal with clients who, for whatever reason, decided not to hire an attorney for their business, but have now run into a problem. Sometimes, we can fix the problem. But when we can fix it, it usually costs more to do so.
Sometimes, it’s financially impossible for us to fix the problem. If the problem is too complicated, it may cost more to pay us to fix it than to just close the business and start over.
Other times, we talk with business owners who are in a tough situation that we simply can’t get them out of. They’ve already incurred the fine, or breached that contract, or done something else where there simply isn’t anything we can do. We hate to see these situations because often times the issues that occurred could have been prevented if we had we been consulted in a proactive measure. But, unfortunately, that isn’t always the case.
So again, the best time to hire an attorney is as early as possible. The earlier the attorney is able to get involved, the more they are able to help.
